Abstract:

Beech (Fagus orientalis) is one of the most valuable species in Hyracanica forests which contains 26% of standing volume. A National project was planned and carried out to assessment of GROWTH and performance of Fagous orientalis in Asalem region. In this study, eight plots were selected in different aspects and elevations from 550 up to 2000 m. a. s. 1. Each plot covered one hectar and in terms of dbh classification, five trees were selected in each plot. Tree height, dbh, DIAMETER at median height, crown height and crown DIAMETER was assessed. Other characteristics such as crown layer, crown health, crown size warp and branchiness of stem was considered. The obtained results of this study indicated that trees under 80 cm DIAMETERs had 170 m3 volumes per hectar. The calcalated form factor for Beech was 0.4075. The value of mean annual increment was 3.47 m3. Correlation analysis showed that there was significantly correlation between height and age, DIAMETER and age as well as dbh class and mean height crown, depth and dbh crown size. The correlation of air temperature with seedless percentage was positive and significant at a≤0.05 (r=0.571). Therefore high temperature would be caused an increase in seedless percentage. As if the general characters of tree (tree height and DIAMETER, etc.) showed the Terebinth trees of forest zones have rather vertical GROWTH than other on the contrary of horizontal GROWTH, this result can be caused by the high inter and intra specific competition (for light, space, etc.) in the forest zone.To pay attention to large changes of echological characteristics in the studied areas, it can be stated that one of important factors of Terebinth's permanency in kurdestan is it's compatibility to difference ecological conditions. The result of cluster analysis based on distances and similarities percentage among studied groups (areas) showed that it can be decreased from 13 to 7 area in the future studies.

Abstract:

Estimating urban trees GROWTH, especially tree height is very important in urban landscape management. The aim of the study was to predict of tree height base on tree DIAMETER. To achieve this goal, 921 trees from five species were measured in five areas of Mashhad city in 2014. The evaluated trees were ash tree (Fraxinus species), plane tree (Platanus hybrida), white mulberry (Morus alba), ailanthus tree (Ailanthus altissima) and false acacia tree (Robinia pseudoacacia). Regression analysis of tree height versus tree DIAMETER revealed several models (linear, logarithmic, exponential and power) that could be used for estimating the tree height of these five species. The logarithmic, power and exponential functions provided a good fit to the data on tree height against tree DIAMETER for ash tree (R2=0.9 and RMSE=0.74), ailanthus tree (R2=0.92 and RMSE=0.44) and plane tree (R2=0.72 and RMSE=0.72), respectively.

Abstract:

Introduction: In human, the GROWTH of the cerebellum may be less affected by Intrauterine GROWTH Restriction (IUGR). Then, measurement of transverse cerebellar DIAMETER can be used as an appropriate measurement for determining the gestational age of fetus with IUGR. This study was performed with aim to evaluate the agreement of different biometric parameters such as transverse cerebellar DIAMETER, femur length and biparietal DIAMETER in sonographic determining of gestational age of fetuses with IUGR and comparing them. Methods: This cross sectional study was performed on 35 pregnant women with small abdomen suspected to IUGR fetuses who referred to sonography ward of Kermanshah Imam Reza Hospital in 2016. Gestational age was determined based on the LMP of patient. Ultrasound was performed for patients; gestational age was measured by Transverse Cerebellar DIAMETER (TCD) and other sonographic routine parameters, and then the results were compared. Data were analyzed by SPSS software (version 22) and paired t-test, Wilcoxon, Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficient. PResults: There was no significant difference between gestational age predicted by TCD parameter and LMP (P>0. 05). But, gestational age determined by the parameters of BPD and Femur Length was significantly lower than gestational age based on LMP (P<0. 05). Also, gestational age determined by TCD was significantly more than gestational age based on BPD and FL (P<0. 05). Conclusion: Using Transverse cerebellar DIAMETER parameters (TCD) to estimate the accurate gestational age of fetuses with intrauterine GROWTH restriction can be safe and reliable.

Background: The aim of radiation therapy is to deliver a precisely measured dose of irradiation to a defended tumor volume. Simulation has been used instances to document the configuration of the portal and target volume to be irradiated accurately. Unfortunately, there is non-Conventional simulation in most of cancer centers in Iran. There fore in this study, it was tried to estimate pelvic inlet from inrerspinous DIAMETER (distance between two Ant. Sup. Iliac spine) of the aforementioned patients in Radiotherapy – Oncology Department in Imam Hossein hospital. Materials and methods: Interspious DIAMETER on the surface kin (X) and pelvic inlet (Y) on simulation in the 44 men and 61 women were determined, coefficient (r) in men and women rm=0.8841 rw=0.8141 and linear regression analysis the following equation was obtained. Y=0.525X-0.339 R2=0.7815 for men Y=0.326 X+5.18 R2=0.6626 for women Conclusion: It was concluded that in both men and women, it is possible to estimate pelvic Inlet DIAMETER from Interspinous DIAMETER. But the coefficient of determination (Rsq) is lower in women than men.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is determination of best altitude range for forestation of Quercus libani Oliv in Kurdistan province and dendrochronology of this species. For this purpose, twelve disks as a random sampling used from pulled trees on three elevation classes (1400-1600m, 1600-1800m, 1800-2000m) in Marivan forest. ANOVA results showed that DIAMETER GROWTH on these elevation ranges have significant difference (p<0.05). The average annual increment DIAMETER on first class (1400-1600m) measured about 2.2mm, second class (1600-1800m) 2.6mm and third class (1800-2000m) 1.8mm. Also, results showed that second class site has a better GROWTH condition than other sites. Thus in three sites, average of annual DIAMETER increment in Quercus libani Oliv indicated a direct relationship with precipitation of the last 17 years.

Abstract:

In this paper, a new physical model is presented to describe the relation between carbon nanotube and catalytic nanoparticle DIAMETER and environmental temperature. This relation is obtained by considering the rate of fenced surface of catalytic nanoparticle in nanotube, which leads to an appropriate formula. Obtained results of the formula show that the DIAMETER of carbon nanotube is increased by increasing of temperature. This happens because catalyst particle has been grown, and carbon atoms which bond to catalyst during GROWTH, will be bonded to the external catalyst atoms. So the nanotube DIAMETER is increased. Furthermore, investigation of dependence of nanotubes DIAMETER on catalyst type during GROWTH shows that if thermal expansion coefficient of catalytic nanoparticle is decreased, the DIAMETER of nanotube at each variation of temperature will be decreased.

Abstract:

The aim of present research in the first stage was to extract astaxanthin from Haematococcus pluvialis using acid-acetone method and then nanoencapsulation of the pigment using maltodextrin-sodium caseinate coating. In the next step, antioxidant and antibacterial activities of nanocapsules carrying astaxanthin and the free form of the pigment was evaluated. In order to evaluate antibacterial activity of the samples, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus iniae, Bacillus subtilis (Gram positive), Yersinia ruckeri, Escherichia coli and Enterobacter aerogenes (Gram negative) were used. The results showed that the antioxidant activity of nanocapsules carrying astaxanthin is significantly higher than the free form of pigment (p<0.05); In addition, this activity was improved by increasing the concentration of samples from 100 to 200 µg/ml (p<0.05). By astaxanthin nanoencapsulation, the DIAMETER of non-GROWTH zone of the studied bacteria increased (p<0.05), but minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of the pigment and its carrier nanocapsules decreased (p<0.05). According to the results of zone of inhibition, Gram positive (except Listeria monocytogenes) and Gram negative bacteria were resistant up to concentrations of 60 and 80 µg/ml of samples, respectively. In the following, the MIC and MBC of the pigment (free and nanoencapsulated forms) for the seven bacteria ranged from 50 to 400 and 100 to 500 µg/ml, respectively. The results of evaluation the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of nanocapsules carrying astaxanthin during storage period (30 days at 4ºC) indicated stability and no significant change of these properties (p>0.05). According to the values of DIAMETER of non-GROWTH zone, MIC and MBC, Listeria monocytogenes was the most sensitive bacteria against astaxanthin and its carrier nanocapsules. Based on the findings, astaxanthin extracted from Haematococcus pluvialis has antioxidant and antibacterial activities, and these properties are improved by the pigment nanoencapsulation using maltodextrin-sodium caseinate coating.

Abstract:

In this study, we describe the GROWTH of carbon nanotubes on commercial iron nanoparticles without carbon shell (Fe (nm), size<60 nm) andiron nanoparticles with carbon shell (Fe* (nm), size <60 nm) as catalysts by chemical vapour deposition method. In order to investigation of supports effects, preparation of catalyst nanopowders (Fe* (nm)/Al2O3 and Fe* (nm)/MgO) was carried out by mixing commercial Fe* nanoparticles (as catalyst) with Al2O3 and MgO powders (as supports) by using ball-milling method. The results show in spite of the fact that ball-milling process can have negative effects on DIAMETER and morphology of synthesized CNTs at 925oC, but it could increase the range of GROWTH temperature from 865oC to 975oC.

Abstract:

Poplar trees produce annually more than two million m3 woods in Iran and they have main role in decreasing the pressure on natural forests. Therefore, efforts should focus on improving quantitative and qualitative characteristics of wood production especially in short rotation systems. In this study in order to determine the GROWTH characteristics of new clones compared to previous clones and study the height and DIAMETER GROWTH in a growing season, seven new exotic clones along with eight previous indigenous and exotic clones (27 cuttings of each clones) cultivated in a Randomized Complete Block Design with 3 replication at Elborz Research Station, Karaj/ Iran. Irrigation and weeding operation was done at suitable time during growing season. Height and DIAMETER of all seedlings were measured every 10 and 30 days, respectively. GROWTHs in periods for both attributes were computed. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and mean comparisons for all traits. The results show significant differences between clones, periods and their interaction. The greatest height GROWTH in a 10 days period belonged to 20th -30th June with 19 cm height GROWTH and its lowest belonged to the end of September and October periods. P. deltoids 63.8 and P. deltoids 69.55 revealed 13 and 11.5 cm height GROWTH in ten days periods, respectively, ranked as first and second clones. At the end of growing season, P. x alborz1 with more than 2 m height was the highest clone. Regarding the DIAMETER GROWTH, end of June until early July with 3.5 mm height GROWTH mean was the best period, as well as, for DIAMETER GROWTH P. deltoids 63.8 with 3 mm was. As a final result, end of June until early July revealed highest height and DIAMETER GROWTH so this shows the importance of irrigation and weeding operation in the period in order to increase productivity.
